The Conference Steering Committee is accepting submissions for presentation at the 2027 Canadian Conference on Tobacco and Nicotine. Our goal is to present an integrated scientific program of research, policy and practice perspectives that encourages participants and presenters to connect, share and learn from each other.
Submissions will examine the current landscape of commercial tobacco and nicotine use; explore emerging evidence and trends; consider the potential implications of emerging alternative nicotine products; and share community-led innovations. The conference will support critical dialogue and cross-sector collaboration to accelerate progress towards the goal of less than 5% tobacco use prevalence by 2035 and less than 5% nicotine use by 2045.
CPHA is committed to honouring Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, Métis) traditional knowledge, spirituality, practices and data sovereignty throughout our scientific program.
Submission will be considered to have an Indigenous focus when they involve First Nations, Inuit, Métis Peoples or populations. This includes studies or programs that include:
All submitting authors must indicate whether the abstract focuses on Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit or Métis) Peoples or populations. If yes, they will be asked to indicate the nature of this focus, how Indigenous Peoples or communities were engaged, and how Indigenous voices and relevant historical or cultural contexts were incorporated.
Please note that transparency is a condition of participation at the 2027 Canadian Conference on Tobacco and Nicotine (CCTN27). Registrants and presenters with ties to any tobacco or vaping product entity will be excluded from the conference.
